I didn't realize that this was the sequel to The Family Upstairs when I started, and I probably would have waited a bit to be a better headspace because of all of the assault. But I still really enjoyed it, and I like the author's storytelling a lot.

A solid sequel. Closure on everything. Happy with the outcome for each character. Well not every character. Except Henry. He needs some 24/7 professional help. Moderate sexual context.

The author states in the Acknowledgments that she doesn't like writing sequels and, yeah, I get why. This was basically 400pgs of filler and I only enjoyed because I really, really felt for the characters in the first book.

But also — Henry Lamb is so annoying.
