As the sequel to The Family Upstairs, I reread the book so everything was fresh. I probably would have enjoyed this sequel a bit more if I hadn’t immediately reread the first book. The Family Upstairs is so good, it is hard for the sequel to fill it’s shoes. Honestly this sequel wasn’t really necessary. It wasn’t a thriller, didn’t have much going on, & just felt overall very meh. Characters like Lucy and Rachel were very hard to read their POVs because their actions were just so frustrating. I’d only recommend this if you loved the first book and want to see how the characters end up.

I liked how it wrapped up pretty much every loose end from the first one. It has been years since I’ve read the first one so I was a little lost at time (on me). Overall a decent sequel

I finally picked up the follow up to The Family Upstairs about two years after reading the first instalment. I’ve got to admit I couldn’t remember who anyone was and I only had a vague memory of the plot from the first. After a few chapters, I’d just about got to grips with who was who and I begin to get suckered in to the story.

Whilst not quite as shocking as its predecessor, this was still a good and enjoyable thriller. We’ve got a good range of characters and plenty of mystery to unpick.

a great sequel that wrapped up the characters’ storylines perfectly! still suspenseful and a page turner but less disturbing than its predecessor
