Interesting but not really needed after the last book. I enjoyed Rachel's part of the story, and her and Lucy's ending.

Look, maybe it's my own damn fault for not realising this was the second in a series when I started it, but according to the author herself it can be read as a standalone so I went ahead with it. And I was disappointed.
This book is deeply anticlimatic, though it started out really intriguing. The story doesn't commit on Henry being as sociopathic as he comes across, I liked Rachel but she turns out to be an incredibly passive character in a very frustrating way, and the main investigation was a whole lot of nothing. I also don't get Libby at all.
All the characters are underdeveloped, and they're both SO MANY (way too many to split focus on) and also do nothing much at all. I'm wondering if Jewell was relying on readers caring for the characters from the first book and hoping that'd carry to the sequel, because she definitely didn't put much effort into this one.

Enjoyed the family upstairs much more. I found this kind of slow paced. And the Henry sections were not as interesting to me as it probably should have been. But I did enjoy the Rachel sections.
