This series has been on my TBR pile for a while now, but it just never seemed to get bumped up to the top of the list. However, when I was offered the chance to read this third installment it gave me the pushed I needed to start the series.

This is author has a descriptive writing style and I was drawn right into the story from the beginning. The mystery is solid and well crafted weaving clues, twist, turns and surprises throughout the story. The characters are well developed and there are some fun, quirky secondary characters that I really enjoyed. I was also glad to see a possible love triangle resolved. I am not a fan of those in my cozy mysteries.

A full review to come close to the release date.

I received an ARC from the publisher through Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. This did not influence my opinion and the thoughts expressed are my own.

I last visited this series on February 20th of this year. I figure it’s time to read the third book in the series and put it to bed.

Sarah Winston, a New England garage sale afficionado, is still juggling men as this book opens. Her former husband is the current chief of police in the small Massachusetts town where she lives. But she also has a thing for the up-and-coming District Attorney. It's not a real great plot line, but it's at least a continuation of the earlier books in the series.

In this book, Sarah operates a garage sale business online. It goes reasonably well until she gets into an argument with one of the members of her virtual garage sale group and that woman dies. She doesn't just die; someone brutally murders her. Since Sarah found the body, everyone suspects her of being the killer. She didn't do it; You get that information early in the book. But it's up to her to figure out who did. Before this ends, a cleaning woman will die. Someone murders her, too. The dead women have in common the fact that they both belonged to Sarah's garage sale group. She is rapidly learning that an online garage sale is harder to maintain than the old-fashioned ones done in person. Someone keeps taking pictures of Sarah in various situations. They post the pictures to a Snapchat-like service, and they make sure Sarah gets to see them. These are creepy threatening pictures. This plotline helps increase the suspense for the entire book.

These books are far from awful. But nor are they the kind of books that leave you leaning forward gripping your book player as though it might fly out of your hands at the sheer magnificence of the plot. They're OK, and I'm glad I read as much of the series as I did. Will I continue with it? I don't think so. My local library doesn't offer any more of it on audio, and the National Library Service for the Blind has no more installments either. I can get them from Bookshare, but these are not gripping enough for me to get through them with synthetic speech. It was fun while it lasted though. And I would read this author again if I had an opportunity. But probably not this series.

**I received this book from NetGalley in exchange for my honest review**

This was a great book. The characters were written well enough that it felt they could jump off the page. I appreciated that she had one of the characters come back from active duty different than when he had left. This is a subject that people typically don't want to talk about, and I think it was important in this book since the series is set near a military base. The mystery felt a little busy to me, but it was tied up nicely in the end.

Sarah Winston started an online garage sale, never dreaming that it would lead her to discovering a dead body. Specifically, that of Margaret More, a woman seemingly beloved by all. At least she was well-respected. Except that she and Sarah had had some words on the garage sale site which makes her a possible suspect. It gets weirder when a picture of Sarah next to the body comes up on her Snapchat-like app. And the pics keep coming; someone is stalking her. Possibly the same person that attacks both Sarah and another garage sale site buyer. As the bodies piles up, it appears more and more like Sarah might be on the list to be the next.
This book again delves into the relationship between Sarah and her ex-husband CJ. She still has feelings for him and can't decide whether or not getting involved again with him is the right thing to do.
I didn't love Sarah in this book. Stubbornly sticking to trying and find the murderer. At least the men in her life didn't keep trying to keep her out of it. And I'm trying to decide whether or not I liked the very end of this book. I think it's where the series has been leading but I'll hold out until we read more about the future in the next book.

Dollycas’s Thoughts

Sarah Winston sees virtual garage sales as a way to keep her business flourishing during the winter months but she never imagined they could lead to murder. There are some crazy people online so to join her garage sale group you have to be added by someone already a member. Should be safe right? Nope, the crazies get in and one of her clients ends up dead. At loose ends about both the murder and her love life, she ends of working with both her ex, the man she is also dating, and a very interesting next door neighbor to put the real killer in the slammer.

I am loving this series and I love that this one takes place during the winter months because it shows Sarah can get creative to keep her business growing. The author also continues to include the Air Force connection running throughout the series. Sarah has friends on and off the base allowing her to be part of both worlds. Her ex-husband is out of the military and now the police chief of Ellington. With each murder, the couple struggles with their relationship. She is also dating the local district attorney. Her friends have their opinions on who she should be with and so do I. 🙂 Not much of a cook, Sarah spends a lot of time at DiNapoli’s restaurant, she is like family to the Italian owners. I get a warm feeling whenever they sit down to share a meal and a little wine. Her landlord and downstairs neighbor and Carol owner of the Paint and Wine are also 2 constants in her new non-military life.

The main plot is complex. It seems to be tied to Sarah’s virtual garage sales but it takes time to find all the connections. Sarah also learns she has a stalker and that is scary because she doesn’t know if they are the murderer or if this has no connection to the case. I loved the way one part of the mystery was solved, but as the last part was falling into place I felt like when I watch a scary movie and you are peering through your fingers shouting “DON’T GO IN THERE!!” Thank you, Ms. Harris, my pulse was racing!

I have really enjoyed the first 3 books in this series. Each one tops the one before. I am excited for book 4, A Good Day to Buy and book 5, I Know What You Bid Last Summer when it makes its debut on February 27!

Great cozy mystery!

In this third installment of the series, Sarah is once again discovering a body. After a second death she decides to go sleuthing, afraid she is the 'Person of Interest' the police is talking about. She is also receiving threatening pictures through a photo-app, but as the pictures disappear after a few seconds she has no real proof. Ex-husband CJ and Seth (the DA) are still both in the picture as love interest, as Sarah cannot decide what she wants with her (love) life. CJ and Sarah have so much history. Both men have agreed to leave her be for a while, although Seth is not exactly sticking to it and Sarah receives some anonymous gifts she suspects are from CJ.

The story is solid. I like Sarah very much as MC and am also happy the 'triangle' is finally solved.
