My other half is officially my newest comfort book.
It was the perfect halal love story. I would even say the āhalalestā but that isnāt a word.
I could relate sooo much to these characters and seeing islam portrayed so beautifully warmed my heart!
There isnāt a lot āactionā in this book and the focus is very much on the main relationship but again it was so well done that i didnāt felt the story lacked anything.

I honestly love reading halal love stories. There is something about how pure the love is that just melts my heart. I loved the characters. Hayat is such a girlboss and Anas what a lovely husband he was to her (except when he messed up in chapter 40/41). The reasons why it's a 4.25 and not a 5 is because I feel like the drama happened all a bit too close to the end for my liking and it was written in 3rd person which isn't really my cup of tea but I didn't mind it that much this time. Also I feel like the beginning was a bit to slow for my liking but that's just a personal preference as I like to enjoy fast pace books but other than that the book was absolutely amazing and I enjoyed it quite a lot.

In this book, we follow the story of Hayat, a digital designer, and Anas, a single father passionate about renovation. We witness their growth as individuals and as a couple, all while adhering to the principles of halal.
What I like most about this book are the topics addressed, including Islam, people who are overweight, and harassment. We live in a society where if you don't fit the established criteria, you are automatically subjected to harassment. It is important to discuss these issues so that anyone experiencing such things can move on and learn to love themselves.
I recommend this book to everyone, regardless of whether they are Muslim or not. It can help Muslims strengthen their faith and allow non-Muslims to form their own opinions beyond what the media presents. I also recommend it to anyone who would like to understand the daily life of a Muslim and how the teachings of Islam can help us in our everyday lives.
