I liked the previous centaur book in this series, but this book was a little much. The h was consistently making bad decisions based on faulty information. It was to move the story along, but wow did she get annoying.

There were some things left out of the story that has kept me up at night.

1. Why was it special that she was
Spoiler an omega? Other than leaky boobs,
we never learn what that was all about.
2. What the heck is the BROTH? Whyyy aren't we told?
3. What happened to the
Spoiler butt plug with the horsy tail?
It was put in, but never removed. Did she wear it around the village making a new fashion statement?

The absolute BEST part of this book was the running commentary by my brave and fearless BR, Twinkle.

The overuse of "Goodness!" and "Goddess!" and "Oh!" in LV's books is really starting to grate on me. Now that I've noticed it, I can't un-notice it.

There were a lot of both in this book. Centaur-wise, though, it was a good read.

3.5 stars ⭐️

I have a love/hate relationship with this book.

Love: the smutty goodness! Only LV Lane does smut like this! I love the world building and the centaurs. I really liked that characters from the Centaur in my Forest were in this book.

Hate: the heroine was TSTL! God I hated her! She was beyond annoying, made dumba$$ decisions, and was constantly weeping. The other thing I hated about this book was the overuse of the word “tummy”. Can we just agree that “tummy” should not, under ANY circumstances, be used in a smut book?! It was used FOURTEEN times in this very short book! I shuddered every time I came across it! I’m sorry… but it’s just wrong to talk about your “tummy” being full… AFTER GUZZLING COME!!!!!*shudder*

I truly just couldn't get around this book. I liked one previous in this series enough so I thought I'd pick it up but it just had nothing going on.

The conflict in the centre of the book was bizarre and drawn out. I felt it painted the main characters of these books in a really horrible light - are they just relying on this other herd to fight and die for them and avoiding protecting the world?

On top of this drawn out conflict, the pay off just wasn't there. One scene really. Maybe if there'd been actual conversation between them - which absolutely can happen in a sex scene!!!! - but I felt like she said next to nothing and just expected him to understand her? It felt really toxic of the FMC. Like I can forgive a LOT with books like these as long as I feel like they'll have a happily ever after, but I didn't feel like she'd stop being toxic and not communicating with him.

On top of this, the language was pointlessly flowery to the point of being incomprehensible at points, and the grammar was very poor.

My first of the series as it was recommended by Bookstagram. Easy, light slow burn story. I don’t care for fluid kink, which is prevalent here. It was between 3 and 4 stars for me but I landed on 3 due to skipping a lot of pages.
