On the run from the law, Molly Murphy sets sail to America only to get stuck in the middle of a murder investigation.

I loved this little book. The crime novels I've read recently they can be very dark and probably more psychological thriller-y than this one, but I enjoyed the more light-hearted mystery. With all the added fun of the societal rules of the 1900, Molly is head strong and gets herself in a whole lot of trouble.

Looking forward to reading more in the series.

Turn-of-the-century New York murder mystery with a stubborn woman detective. Very good. Has that "homey" quality I like.

Love Miss Molly

Good cozy read. I like Molly's gumption and I love this era in New York. I look forward to reading more from this series.

So everyone lives as happily ever after as Irish immigrants can in New York City in 1901.

For the full review - in which, I admit that I think I put higher expectations on this book as a result of enjoying Rhys Bowen's Her Royal Spyness so much more - follow the link to That's What She Read.

3 and a half.

I liked the Constable Evans story I read by Rhys Bowen better than this Molly Murphy one, but I liked Molly and I liked the historical setting in the early 1900's Tammany Hall era NYC.
