I absolutely loved this world created in these books. So when I found out that Return to Amston has a new book, I was excited to read it. It didn't disappoint me in the least. In fact, I absolutely loved it! It's a romance set in a fictional world.
Mae is young girl who lost her father and then her home because women couldn't inherit according to the laws of her father's country. Now, her mother and she are alone. Thankfully, her mother finds a job in the same company her father worked. Their lives are no longer as comfortable as they used to be but at least, they were together and they had found a home.
Mae knows that she will also have to find work to support her mother. So that's what she did and that's how she meets Augustus. Soon their romance blooms and they are planning a future together. Unfortunately, a civil war throws them into a whirlwind of adventure and tragedy. And suddenly, future isn't as certain as it had seemed. Mae is determined to find a way out of this mess. But only time will tell how her adventure ends.
It's a very thrilling and exciting story. Although it is quite sad at times but it ends well and that's all that matters. It's a standalone novel in the world of steampunk. I thoroughly enjoyed reading it and would recommend to anyone who is looking for a good story to read.
