this was my 2nd book by sally hepworth and this was definitely better than the soulmate that i’ve read earlier this year. however, i did expect it to be a lot better than it was. 😭

i didn’t have any issues with the characters. i thought they were well developed and i honestly felt for all 3 sisters in this book. their relationship was definitely one of a kind, it was really sweet seeing them support each other no matter the circumstances. i will say, i think norah was my favourite tho, she was so iconic!

miss fairchild however can rot in hell. it was interesting seeing a narcissist at work but at the same time she was excruciating to read about. lack of morals at its best.

now, the writing style was definitely one of the reasons why i didn’t connect with this book. something about it just made the story drag a lot and i felt like i was reading this book for ages. it’s definitely one of those slow paced books and i usually don’t mind it but in this case it was making me feel bored.

another thing was that i loved past chapters better than the present ones. i thought they were way more interesting.

the plot was one of the biggest issues personally with this book. i saw the reveals from a mile away and nothing in this book managed to shock me apart from miss fairchild’s deeds against the girls. i saw a lot of people saying the ending was this crazy thing and when i finally got to it i was like is that it? am i supposed to be shocked? i literally predicted everything and i usually don’t so that says a lot to me. i was a tad disappointed that it was so easy for me to see that.

i’ll still pick up other books by this author but i don’t hold much hope to get a 5 star book from now on. if the next book is less than 3 stars or less, i’ll probably be saying goodbye to this author. 💔
