I received an ARC of REVELATION IS MY FLASHLIGHT from Cedar Fort Inc. All opinions are my own.

Genre: Inspirational, Christian fiction
Audience: Picture book for kids

The author, Sierra Wilson, uses rhyme to teach children an abstract concept by comparing revelation to a flashlight. A child walks on a path and the flashlight helps her see where to go. I love how we see more than one family in this story doing good things.

The bright colors of the illustrations by Danika Runyan draw the readers' eyes along the path and enrich the text. These drawings are playful and fun to look at.

I love how there are resource materials at the end of the book with definitions, scriptures, questions, quotes, and an activity for kinesthetic learners. This is a book that parents and grandparents will love to share with the kids in their lives.

I highly recommend this book!

Happy reading!

I’m always on the hunt for great resources that help kids understand deep topics in an easy to understand way. Revelation is my flashlight helps kids understand how to receive answers and guidance from God through prayer and personal revelation.

As the world becomes darker and harder to navigate, it’s so essential for kids to know how to receive guidance in their lives. This colorful, engaging picture book uses rhyme and the metaphor of a flashlight to help kids learn how to receive personal revelation and keep their light bright & shining. There’s also a helpful guide at the end which includes resources for primary teachers & parents such as scriptural references, quotes, discussion questions, and activities.

While this book is geared to members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, it would also be a great resource for any parent wanting to teach their children religious principles. I received an advanced complimentary copy from the author. All opinions are my own and voluntarily provided.
