Art style is not what I expected

I read somewhere that Flight is uneven, and I think I agree. But its fluctuations between great and just okay. Some are short amusing larks, others quite cool stories, some weren't my taste but still interesting. Also the cover is awesome so... My only complaint is that most of them seemed to end with clever endings, and that it is just a bit too clever especially when many of the stories end this way. I think that is a flaw that is common in many short story/comics. Also many of them ended with cliffhanger type endings, one story literally, I coudln't figure out if they continue in the next volume I didn't think so but maybe.

A lovely mix of little stories. I especially liked the bowl by Clio Chiang and Outside my window by Khang Le.

I've read another short story collection put together by Kazu Kibuishi that I loved, so I kind of went into this one hoping that I'd like it just as much, but that wasn't really the case. These stories just didn't really have the wow-factor that I was looking for. I did enjoy the variety of art styles, but I really only enjoyed four of the stories.

Great collection of short comics. My favorite illustrators in this volume were Vera Brosgol & Jen Wang, but my fav stories were by Neil Babra & Clio Chiang. On to the second volume...

Really love Clio Chang's bit! Over all it's hit and miss story telling wise. Some stories just don't make much sense while the good ones might have been great full length ones. Yet that's what happens with anthologies. Artwork wise amazing and hope that I discover all the artists other works further.

I like the concept, and much of the art was beautiful, but I didn't get into many of the stories. I wanted something to dig into, and they were just too brief. I did like Khang Le's "Outside My Window." That was pretty much the only one that stick with me.
