Boring and outdated. If I would have read that book 20 years ago when the time was still with West vs Soviet and I would have been younger I probably would have loved this book. But times move by and some stuff just feels antiquated and wrong. Not as horrible as the first book I read from him, but I can't even go up to a meh reading.

Fun to read.

Admittedly, this review may be a little biased. Red Storm Rising was the first book I remember reading simply because I wanted to. That was quite a while ago, but I still recall not being able to put this book down. Telling the story of a conventional third world war, Red Storm Rising's scope is immense. Even now, some 20 years later, the impetus for the Soviet aggression still rings true.

Good old classic.

It was a little slow to begin with, but then we quickly got into it. I don't have a strong military background, so some of the terminology was a bit confusing for me. However, I still feel like Clancy is a great writer, and I liked this book.
