This was a lot of fun, but the high tension of Red October isn’t present. The action scenes (which is 97% of the book) are great and I particularly enjoyed reading one scene where some soldiers were being shelled by enemy mortars - that was truly intense. The sub scenes were my favorite, while I found the tank scenes a bit lackluster. I really enjoyed the Edwards storyline. Very abrupt ending.

Don't have any character i can root for, it's just too much plot heavy ig

Apparently, I read this book back in 1990 or something, but I swear, I don't remember the last 2/3rds, so this was like reading it for the first time. Good book. Clancy did a nice job of picking 4 or 5 main characters, both American and Soviet, and was able to make me root for all of them. No easy task, especially in such a big, wide-ranging story.

Very awesome book. It has dated itself with some of the technology specs but still a very intense look. This would have been a very scary book to read during the Cold War when it came out originally.
