At the 200 mark, I thought I wasn’t going to enjoy this as much the last two but boy was I wrong. THIS WENT PLACES. This was brilliant and satisfying. So happy with the finale. We love a full circle.

Title: As Good as Dead
Author: Holly Jackson
Genre: Young Adult Fiction / Mystery / Thriller

As Good as Dead is the riveting conclusion to Holly Jackson's bestselling A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder series, and it certainly does not disappoint. This is the best of the 3 books, although it is a little scattered and all over the place. I think that is to mimic Pip's mental struggles. In this final "season", we rejoin overly dramatic Pip Fitz-Amobi, whose Nancy Drew-esque knack for solving crimes has made her a podcast superstar and a thorn in Detective Hawkins side.

In this book, Pip’s world is wobbly at best when she becomes entangled in a serial killing mystery, where someone is wrongly accused. She lets her rage take over and becomes unhinged in this one. It's nice to see more from Pip; but, she was all over the place and the story was hard to follow in a chronological timeline.
I honestly gave 2 and 3 stars to the first two novels. This one I gave 5 stars! The writing was much more developed and the story seemed a lot less "polished and perfect. The other books writing came across contrite and inauthentic. You can see that Jackson has truly developed her voice as the series progressed. What makes As Good as Dead particularly compelling is Pip's internal struggles and moral dilemmas as she confronts a disturbing truth about herself.

Overall, As Good as Dead is a fitting and explosive end to a series that has kept us guessing from the start. Holly Jackson has delivered a conclusion that is much more action packed than the prior two.

Overall decent series, and I give it an overall 3.5 stars in its entirety.
