One of the rare cases in which the movie outshined the book, by miles!

Two stars, not because I didn't like it, but I didn't totally like it either. Partially could be all the constant mental comparing to the movie, which had a tighter and more satisfying narrative, but also due to the story being peppered with constant wish-fulfillment-esque paragraphs that had nothing but lists of designer clothes being worn or fondled, or so on. I liked how she captured the gas lighting tyrant boss and illustrated the slow destruction of the main character's life, though it felt a little off kilter in the way it unfolded to me. (More like 2.5 stars.)

I have never, in my 25 years on this planet, said this - and probably never will again - but the movie was better than the book. Yeah i know this is impropable not to mention a downright blasphemy but in this case it is true.
I prefer the movie to the book tbhbut that is not to say that the book was worthless or unreadable. It is an OK read to pass the time..

Fun and entertaining. Totally different from the movie, but both enjoyable in their own ways.
