Not what I was expecting honestly. It's incredibly hard to write short novels that are mindblowingly good, so I do want that noted up front - this isn't easy and it's better than anything I could write, this is not a personal dig at the author by any means.
That being said, the base of the story was interesting. This author tackled mental health, trauma, healing, sex positivity, and they did it well. My only issue was the amount of typos, and I mean typos that were entirely different words than I'm assuming were intended, along with some moments of grammar - but again, writing is hard and I'm still giving this author mad props. The plot felt like it moved way too fast, moments of conflict arose and ended in the same chapter, it seemed disconnected and at times counter intuitive - I'm talking, one moment you're in the present and in the next sentence an entire week passed and it was confusing. The spice was alright, but it felt like it was intentionally graphic for the sake of being graphic. Not my favorite read, I don't think I'd read anything else from this series. Plot wise, I'd say maybe 1 star, but I gave it 2 for the element of sex positivity.
