It has been a while since I read the first three books of Millenium and can't even judge if Lisbeth is so very different from the original, but in the end what mattered is that I enjoyed reading this book as I probably did with others. And I can't tell you that this is more boring than average crime book, because these are generally the only crime series I have ever read.

I really feel like I want to like these books more, but they're just sorta there for me. I'm not particularly attached to any character. But I did enjoy the mystery, which wasn't super complicated about halfway through when I had it mostly figured out. Overall, it was still good, though it was pretty short compared to the others.

While I was compelled to finish this book, it was not the best in this series. Of course there is the traditional alliance between Salander and Blomkvist, but the other character developments were weak. Overall, I felt this story was lacking depth, difficult to follow and lacking a dose of reality.

This book was definitely not my favorite in the series. I feel like they took forever to get to the point and had too many stories/plotlines going on at once that it was hard to focus. I'm still not even sure how Lisbeth ended up in prison anyways, especially since she was a person who always avoided being caught after the horrific shit she dealt with in her younger years. I feel like the Faria story was unnecessary and made for too much distraction.

But once the plotlines started to come together, it got really good and I couldn't put it down. I wouldn't read this book again, but it was worth reading now to carry on the story of Lisbeth and Blomvquist.
