So the Riordan brothers are going to get their own books. Luke was the first. It is Sean's turn now. A second chance at making things right between Sean and Franci. Of course, as in the past couple of books there were other stories within the main one and that was all right. I enjoyed it just the same. Dan and Cheryl most likely are going to get their story told at some point. Maureen, Sean's mum, might get hers.

However, whenever there's a 'supposedly practising' (Maureen in this case) Catholic in some of the books I've read, not only Ms Carr's, there is a need to have said Catholic 'change' his or her beliefs. Maureen was portrayed as an uptight, straight-laced practising Catholic so the only way she cold find her HEA was to 'get over' her beliefs. Why can't a Catholic be true to their faith in fiction? It just bugs me a bit.

I went back to Virgin River for the first time in early January 2024 and it is always such a warm and happy place to be.

In Angel's Peak we see another Reardon man discover that running from love and commitment isn't all it is cracked up to be, especially after bumping into his long time love who he hasn't seen in 4 years. She is hiding a secret from him as well. An adorable daughter that she never told him about.

This book in the Virgin River series focused a lot on the newer character, which was nice. we visited some older ones but it allowed for a lot of character growth. Once again a lovely read.

I buy adult fiction for our local public library. This is one of my favorite parts of my job. I get to spend other folks' money making many readers very happy. So I have been buying the romances in Carr's Virgin River series for years. I know that many people anxiously wait for the next installment.

I decided it was time to find out why these novels are so popular, so I borrowed this volume for my Kindle. I am glad I did. Carr has put together a nice, light series with lots of linked stories, love and romance. There was no problem with starting the series in the "middle". I enjoyed the main romance, but could tell that the earlier stories were probably fun also.

I need another series to read like a hole in the head, but I will return to Virgin River. Carr makes it a good place to visit.

As always, another easy, quick, feel good read from Carr. This is the 9th in the Virgin River series, and the hits just keep on coming. I read other books and other series, but I know I can always come home to Virgin River to get a recharge and feel good about the world again. This story focuses on Sean Riordan and Franci, with Luke and Shelby and Noah and Ellie in the background, and a little whirlwind romance for Maureen on the side. Other prior characters are mentioned as well, which always brings the good feelings of the previous novels up to the surface. I know it's a little cheesy, but I love the weddings, the babies and the relationships in this series. Yes, everything seems to end well and everyone is paired up by the end of the novel, but that's what I keep coming back for. I hope Carr keeps these books light and full of love and good feelings- because that's what we're expecting at this point, and why I keep reaching for Carr's novels.
There are a few sticking points here- there always are. I'll admit there are probably too many characters whose professions involves lady parts. Aiden is a huge pain in this novel, and TJ is made out to be the most vile boyfriend ever when compared with Sean. Rosie grates on your nerves at times, and Maureen's religious views always get me angry (but that's for personal reasons I suppose).
Other than that, this was a rather enjoyable read. I can absolutely see myself re-reading this series in the future, just to get that feeling back that these books give me.

Cute read but after 9 books the story feels a little dragged on

The focus of this installment of the Virgin River series is on Sean Riordan and Francie. Sean and Francie dated in the past and upon a bad breakup haven't seen or talked to each other of 4 years. While Sean is visiting the Virgin River area and his brother Ian he runs across Francie in a bar and they have a chance to discuss the past and get re-acquainted. The side stories include more of Noah and Ellie and a budding relationship with Sean's mother and George, Noah's pastor friend and mentor. It's a nice, fun, easy to read enjoyable book. Nothing remarkable, nothing too bad to say. 3.5*

Loved it! It started off a little slow but ended well. I want to move there.

I didn't love these storylines or these characters. The girlfriend who hides her pregnancy and child from the child's father for four years. And the geriatric love story with the judgmental mom who clearly made some poor parenting mistakes as all four of her adult sons are commitment phobes.
