The art isn't my favorite, but it makes up for it with intense events and mindblowing developments! I'm getting more intrigued by titans origians with each volume.

The introduction of the Wall Titans was game changing in ways I couldn't have realized when this first came out. But their introduction made this volume good for another reason, too. Attack on Titan is a fictional series without much of a status quo. Things never stay the same for long. The second you THINK you've figured out its world, and what is really going on, Isayama either distracts you with some looming threat or springs some world shattering reveal on you.
The revelation that the Walls were made of Colossus Titans was world shattering. How could a wall made of Titans have protected humanity from the very creatures that supposedly rendered them extinct? Who put them there? Why?
One of my favorite panels in this volume is Pastor Nick demanding Hanje cover up the Titan's face. It really gave you this sense of terror. What would happen if the Titan started moving? What would happen if they ALL came out?
All of these questions will be answered much later in the series, but introducing them here was a brilliant way to up the stakes.

i literally knew what was going to happen and i was still on the edge of my seat. the female titan reveal is one of my favorite scenes from season 1 agh. i also liked how we got an additional chapter instead of ending how it did in the anime, v exciting
