I mean... it's Lovecraft. It's racist as hell in ways that are directly tied into the plot, and the prose is very purple. Yet somehow, *despite* that, there are so many weird creatures and interesting ideas that you just can't put it down, even when you want to throw it across the room.

The end was okay thank god but it took me forever to read. Normally like his stories but this one wasn’t worth it in my opinion
I don’t wanna comeback to Lovecraft’s “Dream Cycle” after this one. I don’t find it interesting reading his stories that are without horror elements. Ending is good though.
Well that was interesting. But it mostly just felt like a sketch or outline of a book, and not fully written. Either that or HPL was just a crappy writer with a good imagination.

I found this story to be insufferable. I did however give to two and a half stars because the cats are cool.
