Ohhhh this is a bad book. It’s poorly written and the characters are flat.
There’s basically no plot, and what little there is isn’t very compelling or thrilling for a book that’s labeled as a thriller.
I’m not someone who thinks that characters all have to be likable, but they should at least be interesting.
The only positive about this book is that it’s a fast read and I finished it during my boring desk shifts.

I’m not sure I would call it a thriller, but that might technically be its genre. It does contain one of the spookiest elements of true crime: someone secretly living in your house (and consuming your food).

I read this book on a friend's recommendation. Thrillers aren't really my thing, but I gave it a try. The whole premise was strange, but interesting. I felt like "the big secret" was kind of a let-down and if Winnie had just gone to the hospital that night and explained that she was trying to help, all that tension for 13 years and the resulting confrontation could have been avoided. And really, it wasn't even that secret that caused the true drama at the end. Which, wow... that escalated quickly. In particular, I didn't like the ending where both secrets - Winnie's and Juno's - were left unresolved.

um what a wild ride?? i think?? I hate misunderstandings & I hate when problems could've been avoided if people just minded their own business, but here we are lol. I did feel super stressed at times because of all the risky behavior among the characters, but the ending left me unsettled and some readers enjoy that, but I am not one of them. Also, things seem to come out of nowhere at the end just to keep the story going as a failed attempt to make things remotely make sense. Some things were also unnecessary like *ahem* affair that wasnt an affair??? anyway, I loved the epilogue though! And I'm glad I gave Tarryn Fisher a chance, at least.
