This was my second read of that book, 4 years after the first, and wow, I remember why it was my all-time book for a long time.
The characters are amazing, and so well constructed, every single one of them.
I loved the exploration of the empire, and how good people can fight for evil, it's soooo interesting.

Easily the best of the five SW books I’ve read so far. Unfortunately, it does not do much to set up the new trilogy as it claims to, but it’s a well-written story nonetheless.

If you are going to read one of the books released for the 'Journey to Star Wars: The Force Awakens', make it this book. PLEASE. CHOOSE THIS ONE.

There is good in the new EU. This book is proof. Never have I felt for two characters without a shred of visualization or knowledge of them previously like I did in this book.

True it's a YA book, but, it's so well written and so damn FRESH that it feels like it's a part of the Star Wars universe.

The blending of incidents that we know and love from the original trilogy come to life without sounding dull or repeating; the author teases apart the scenes and finds different angles for her characters to tell their story. Never did I think I was reading anything other than a Star Wars book. Also: there seems to be this thing (not all, but some) when an author writes for Star Trek and then writes for Star Wars they tend to borrow from the others world. It did not happen here and that's what I loved.

Female writers for the Star Wars universe DO and CAN exist. Claudia Gray has earned her stripes and I hope she writes more.

The story was epic sad but the ending gives me hope. Hope for more of the two characters I grew to love. I pray that I see that. May it be comics or other stories.

idk i think i need to reread this because everyone LOVES this book and i just sorta liked it. the romance was good but ciena drove me insane. honestly i like to think of this book as what's happening in the background of nash windrider's villain origin story

“Did Thane posses a memory worth having that she wasn’t apart of?” YEAHHHHHHHH

Galactic wars are really ruining relationships! Usually a little romance like this does not work for me, but I simply seated myself.

Honestly way better than I thought it was going to be, the stakes felt high. So many unexpected things happened that I started to worry for the very worst. A very mild look into two ideologies being pitted together, but interesting enough, nonetheless. And the audiobook for this is phenomenal with the sound design!

It's so interesting to see the events of the OT through outsider perspectives. I think this book was an excellent example of the archetype of enemies to lovers done right. It's not some stupid "I hate you so much but I want to bang you even more" sort of thing, but just two people who love each other very much but are on opposing sides due to their personal standpoints. It was also an excellent exploration on how people can fight on the wrong side and internally justify it to themselves. The people of the empire are filled with propaganda, manipulation and a healthy dose of fearmongering, no wonder some of them ended up the way they did. I found the characters very lovable, even the side characters were great. It masquerades as a cute YA sci-fi romance, but it tackles a lot of heavy subject matter. Fantastic.

This book is about star crossed lovers. I thought the characters were very relatable and real. The author did a great job showing multiple points of view in a universe of light and dark. I enjoyed this book a lot. I couldn't put the book down until I found out what happens to the characters. I would love to read more about the characters create in this book. Great addition to the star wars universe.
