A crazy man who's lived a crazy life and attracted (by means of his craziness) even more crazy adventures and stories. It was really interesting reading this memoirs having never watched any of his work, but it made it even more fascinating getting the behind the scenes look at his oeuvre. Definitely want to check out his documentaries. 

Great memoir. There was something of Bourdain in him too (fearlessness + ravenous curiosity about the world), which I liked.
