This is a novella, it takes place immediately after the last book. Christmas morning Eve is investigating the death of a judge, except she knows who the murder is. She had already put him away 3 years earlier. Somehow Palmer has escaped and he has a list of victims he wants revenge on, with Eve as the grand finale. This was a nice little novella, it eased me back into the characters from my short hiatus. The storyline was ok. I think I prefer the books better because there is more time to develop the story and the mystery. But it was still good

4.5* Very quick but good read. Great compelling story in such a short span, very impressive

A good little novella.
Eve is always getting in danger... The suspense of it keeps it well, suspenseful, but we know as the main character she isn't going to be killed.

A short tale set immediately after the events of Holiday in Death.

There is clearly no rest for the wicked good cop because no sooner has Eve Dallas got rid of one psycho, there's another one escaped from jail with his sights set directly on her. One she remembers very well from when she put him away 3 years ago. And when his "Christmas list" of victims has more than one familiar name on it, Eve decides that this time, she will take no prisoners.

Favourite quote:
“You annoy me, Eve.” “Why? Because I’m right?” “Yes. And snotty about it.” But his smile warmed a little. “Why did you call?” “So I could be snotty.
