This was a cute, quick read for me! I did enjoy it for the most part, however I will say that some parts leaned more toward that "slice of life" feeling rather than plot heavy (which I know some people enjoy, I just personally prefer plot heavy things).

Another thing I will say is that the author's writing style does feel a bit more fanfic-y to me rather than romance novel writing, which didn't bother me that much because I'm an avid fanfic reader and writer, but I would maybe skip on this one if you have a specific style of writing you like. Overall though, very cute and light read.

I really liked that there was no 3rd act break up. This was such a sweet story.

This book was an easy, shallow read, but such a fun time. I loved how tender and sweet Emmy and Luke were to each other- I was literally melting when he held her in the barn the first time!! I absolutely hated Gus and his overprotective brother-ness. It made me very uncomfortable. And I didn’t enjoy the bedroom talk in this book, it was so different than their relationship dynamic outside the bedroom. All the conflicts wrapped up really easily and quickly at the very end of the book without a lot of internal conflict/tension, which made this a wholesome story (despite the spicy scenes lol). Considering the struggles that we saw hints of (Emmy’s ADHD and trauma from her accident, Luke’s generational trauma), I wish there was more depth, but it was still such a fun time where everything worked out in the end, if you want a happy ending cowboy romance!

Am I in my cowboy romance era?! Yes! It’s a lighthearted, small town romance, with an elite trope: brother’s best friend! Of course, I appreciated the country music because it reference songs I grew up listening to. The story had some serious topics undertones – including grief, ADHD representation, and panic attacks. I can’t wait for the next book in the Rebel Blue Ranch series.

Loveeee this story! The characters, the
no breakup in the third act 🙌🏼,
the setting, the spiceeee 🔥, everything was so good.

Emmy and Luke are perfect for each other, they complement so well. Teddy is that best friend that you are sooo happy she’s in your corner, and Amos is the best dad. Ah I loved the characters so much. This was such a good feel read, heartwarming, lighthearted but with substance.

Very excited to read the other books in the series.
