"It was like I spent my whole life getting pieces of her, and now I was finally putting the pieces together. Guess what? There wasn't any piece of Emmy I didn't like. I was so fucked."

I adore Luke Brooks and Clementine Ryder. I felt connected to Emmy in a way I haven't to other characters. She thinks and speaks exactly how I do. Even her described experience with her panic attacks felt like mine. So often the struggles the badass FMC goes through are fun to read but not as relatable. Emmy's actions are so natural. It was a breath of fresh air. It is wonderful to connect with a character who is such a strong person yet their struggles still resonate with you.

And don't even get me started on the sexiness that is Luke Brooks. A muscle tee and a backwards baseball cap wearing bar owner who not only helps his found family run their ranch and never bats an eye when faced with Emmy's anxiety but who also has a dirty mouth and wants to shout about their relationship from the rooftops? I'm dying.

Done and Dusted is so cute and wholesome and warm. The spice is sweet and yet oh so yummy. The characters are really engaging and fun to read (I an eagerly awaiting Wes and Gus's books). The gentle way Luke helps Emmy with her anxiety and healing, and the way Emmy accepts Luke as he is now is perfect. I didn't know anything about the book when I started reading and at 30% in I was trying to buy the next book only to be devastated when I learned Swift and Saddled isn't out until March. I could not stop smiling as I was reading and as soon as I finished it I wanted to read it again.

*Brother's Best Friend
*Small Town Cowboy Romance
*He Falls First
*Dual POV
*ADHD Rep
*No Third Act Break Up

Favorite Quotes:

I'd spent the past few years trying to be something, and there was something about Emmy that made me believe I could get there.

You didn't ask why I came home?
I don't care why you're here, only that you are.

And here she was. In faded blue jeans and a ratty George Strait t-shirt that was cropped short, she was a walking wet dream for any cowboy.

I kept my hands on her face longer than I should've, soaking up what it felt like to be close to her. Jesus Christ. You are pathetic, I thought to myself. She is literally bleeding dipshit.

And at the end of the book is one of my favorites.
Luke gave me one of my favorite smiles, the one that brought out the crinkles around his eyes, and I fell into his arms once again. Home Sweet Home.
