Picked a date to potty train, started reading this, and then my daughter decided she didn't want to do a diaper so we tried this, knowing full well we only had two days until dealing with daycare. It was the worst day, all of our potty training nightmares come to fruition, and we are taking tomorrow to regroup. I wasn't crazy about the author's tone and didn't feel like the issues we anticipated and actually had with my child's brand of stubborn were addressed. With so much conflicting information about when to start training, you feel like a failure from page one of this when your kid is a hair away from 3. I know others who reported success with this method, but they definitely weren't teachers with limited time off who moved during the summer after adjusting to having a premature baby when their kid first started showing readiness signs.

I loved the troubleshooting sections, but didn’t vibe super well with the almost judgy tone. That’s a strong way to phrase it, especially as it’s a good tool, but had a touch more preaching about parenthood than I needed at such a stressful time.

As a method, helpful. Though we ended up having to do things a little differently I was glad for the framework. As a book, very repetitive!
I liked this book but I haven't actually started potty training yet so we'll see how it goes. I appreciated the tone and the no rewards approach. She seems to know what she is talking about and to be reasonable about how to get results.
