Oh, hey, you know identity theft? And how it's all creepy and horrible to think about how someone could pretend to be you and get credit cards in your name and ruin your reputation forever? Ok, so multiply that feeling by 100--here's a psycho that doing this just for fun, and oh by the way--he's killing people too! Unbelievably creepy for the simple fact of how true it all probably is. I love this series, so I thought the book was great, but I will say that Deaver has fallen into a common plot-peeve of mine, which is too many points of view. It's usually Rhyme and crew and then then perp, but this one had just too many off shoots for my taste. But, if you love the Lincoln Rhyme series--or CSI or Bones for that matter-- I definitely recommend this one.

Typical Deaver. Gripping, hard to put down and the usual intricate plot twists

Lincoln Rhyme, is full up, running two cases at the same time, one in Europe, and the other closer home. The "perp" is seemingly 'all-kmowing', and it seems impossible to stop him. The ending will surprise you.

The writing is so clunky and cringeworthy, it’s difficult to believe this is a long running series. However, there was a kernel of an interesting idea involving a serial killer’s use of extreme identity theft to frame others for his crimes, so I’ll give it a grudging two stars.

This was another of my favorites in the series!

Holy smokes, it's the invisible stuff that really creeps me out... identity theft & bioterrorism.

This whole book is about identity theft, and boy does it make you want to protect the heck out of your identity.

Well done Deaver, this one will haunt me for years to come.

An excellent mystery. This is as close to a 5 star as a book could get for me. Deaver is a master at providing twists and intelligent analytics. Well done. Highly recommend this series and this book.

Quadriplegic detective Lincoln Rhyme begins an investigation when his estranged cousin is arrested for murder in what appears to be an air-tight case. But the investigation reveals that the actual killer has unlimited access to detailed computer records detailing every aspect of the lives of millions of people. This book is a page-turner and it taps into the fears of many people regarding intrusive computer surveillance and potential for identity theft.
