3.5 stars—so this felt v similar to pride & prejudice yet a lot less amusing/enjoyable. the archetypes of characters in this feel almost 1:1 with the characters in P&P which was surprising to me. however, I did like some of the nuance and faults explored in the characters.

Finally found an Austen I love! I think audiobooks are the way to go for me! I loved the sisterly bond between elenanor and marriane! And the betrayals of the men and the plot twists!

The way this book criticises the aristocracy and how people only view potential lovers by the sum of their fortune was truly refreshing for me. And I do love the fact this book doesn't end in happily ever after for a certain character I despised was very satisfying.
