What a wild ride! This book was not at all what I expected in the best way. I don't remember ever reading a plot like this before especially in historical romance so I was guessing what was next through the first 60%. The ending did slow down and drag a bit but it was still enjoyable. I loved the characters and story. I loved all the little bits of Arab/Palestinian culture that are shared through the character's families.

I really wanted to like this book. I absolutely LOVED the first two books in this series and was looking forward to finally learning more about Brandon. And while he as a character was fine I wasn't overly enamored of the story itself. While all historical romance is understandably predictable, this one was ridiculously so. Brandon/Alex is a likable enough character and Rose is a strong female, which I appreciate, but they were just so boring. Overall a disappointing installment of the series.

My first Diana Quincy and it was very good. Did I start with the 3rd book? Yeah. I didn't affect the reading experience except for all the side characters I didn't know about. Also, I loved the integration of the Palestinian culture
