This book has an interesting premise (plus I will ALWAYS read what Ruth Ware writes), but the conclusion was not super thrilling to me. I found myself skimming less because I was on the edge of my seat and more because I just wanted to finish the book. Lots of obvious and uninteresting red herrings, a main character that I didn't particularly feel attached to, and some far-fetched moments that took me out of the story. But I will give it credit for the interesting premise, and this book did get me out of the funk I was in not being able to finish reading anything in a while!

Main character is absolutely insufferable. Imogen Church’s reading of the audiobook further adds to her whining-ness

fun, well written - a pen tester and vulnerability analyst get in over their head (or at least up to the neck). Fast paced, fun.

This was right down the middle for me. I didn't love it nor did I hate it. It's a story about a woman who believes she's being framed for her husband's suspicious murder. As a "pen tester" (which is someone who tests companies physical and digital security systems), the main character is hyper-vigilant in invading the authorities and proving her innocence while aware of how omnipresent surveillance is in this world.

I gave it 3-stars because of the pacing of the first-half and the fairly flat ending and resolution. Again, didn't hate it but also had no emotional connection with the story or characters.
