If you love Ruth Ware this is a perfectly servicable read. Not her worst but not in her top 3 best either. A yummy summer potato chip kind of book, and I mean that affectionately.

Husband and wife team Jack and Gabe are the best pen testers in the business. Gabe is the tech guy who breaks into the security systems and Jack works her way inside buildings with her athletic physique. However after a challenging night on the job which ends with Jack in a police cell, she returns home to find Gabe brutally murdered and herself the only suspect. On the run and fearful that the people that killed Gabe might be after her as well, Jack must prove her innocence and find the killer.

This is a fast-paced thriller with the police chasing Jack as she tries to piece together what has happened to Gabe with few resources and not knowing who she can trust. Yes, you do have to suspend belief that she could get away with some of the things she does, but it wouldn't be such an actioned packed thriller without that! I rushed through this one in just a couple of sittings once Jack was on the run, and with her obvious injury (I wanted to shake her for a good section of the book and tell her to go get medical attention!), I wasn't 100% sure she'd live to get her answers. Definitely worth a read if you want a quick and action-packed thriller that'll keep you guessing.

Zero Days started off strong but fell short for me. I guessed early on who was involved with the murder and this felt like it dragged on for the ending to have a not so shocking conclusion.

3.5 stars rounded up.
I loved how this book started, but as it went on I thought it was getting increasingly more unrealistic.
I felt the characters were well developed and overall was rooting for Jack.
I felt the use of profanity was extremely over the top, and generally unnecessary. The book would have likely been 8-10 pages shorter if they were eliminated.
Also the chapters were ridiculously long, so I’d have to stop randomly in the middle somewhere, which is hard to pick it back up.

I liked The It Girl much much better than this one. I just felt like not enough happened. I could sum up the entire book in like 4 sentences. There weren't very many characters so it wasn't a huge surprise to find out who did it. Wouldn't really recommend this one.
