I desperately need someone to tell me why the dialogue is formatted so weird where the sentences are broken in half BY A COMMA and then continue IN A NEW PARAGRAPH. Please. I’m dying to know why this was done and who told Stephanie this was ok?

Gobbled this up in a day... I love this author... i read afterlife up to book 7 as i felt the story was getting way to dragged out so i stopped there. I started this with some prior knowledge of the world and its characters, which is a must when starting this book.

Dom and Keiras daughter (From afterlife saga) Emmie, Em, Amelia, Fae or Smock Has been dreaming of Lucius or Luc (my fave character from the afterlife saga, stoked he got his own book!!!!!) But their initial first meeting goes awry (reasons not yet explained) but it seems Luc is for some reason trying to keep her at arms length, she runs away becoming engrossed in history and artifacts and lands her dream job at the history museum in London..... Her dear ol dad comes a visiting giving her a box to decipher also bringing Luc back into her life... then chaos erupts......

I loved the Chemistry between Em and Luc but was so disappointing no steam

Just another reason i cant wait to get my hands on the next book!
Just hope the author doesn't drag this out to much and ruin it... Afterlife was going to be one of my all time favorites... but the kidnapping and Drama got a bit too YA for me ruining its initial premise and afer book 7 i really gave up caring what happened to the characters.... I was happy to get this book see they have all managed to survive happily up until now, without having to read all 12 books so silver lining.

But as for this book, Its as riveting as the first afterlife book, the characters are amazing the world building is great and the imagination is phenomenal..... plus a bit of London (although south west) cant wait for book 2!!!!

3.5

3.5 because I actually liked it. The author is amazing at descriptions, but why does she have to describe EVERYTHING? Every piece of furniture, every face, every everything. It was like reading Stieg Larsson again.

I had no idea this was a spinoff series. Apparently, I need to read the original series to really understand this one, but I got the gist. I have the first book of the series so I might drop back and then pick this up again.

The heroine, Emmie, is the completely human daughter of the king of the supernaturals and a mother who is described as half angel & demon and half vampire. Not sure how that's possible. Emmie has been in love with the king of the vampires, Lucius, for years, but he broke her heart 7 years before. She then leaves and throws herself into archeology and history. She is smart, motivated, and can kick booty, but only until Lucius shows up, and then she becomes a puddle. I think I'll read the next one because I need to know more.

Slow start but it picked up!

I wasn't entirely sure about this book. It has a very very slow start I felt.
I still feel that there is far too much "filler" in the first 10 or so chapters. It was getting to a point where I was about to put the book down.... But that all changed once our dear Lucien *finally* made it to the scene.

Suddenly the whole book change. It became exciting, romantic suspence kept me captivated, and fighting scenes that really held my attention.

I am a huge fan of archaeology and history, and I absolutely love that thus series has a large part of this implemented. That our heroine has the same interests is also a huge bonus for me. :)

So in the end I'm glad I stuck to it.
This book ends on a serious cliffhanger though, so be warned!

The good thing though? There's no need to wait, you can just move straight on to the 2nd book. Yum yum.

I wish I had read the companion series before this as there are so many secondary characters in the book and I'm dying to know their story which seems so connected with Amelia's. I really enjoyed Stephanie's writing style but I did find it very descriptive which made the book longer than I believe it could have been. I am really looking forward to reading the other books in the series but I will probably read the Afterlife series first before I carry on with this saga.

What can I say?!
I didn't think that Stephanie could do it again, but she certainly did!
I tried to wait until Transfusion book 2 was out, but I couldn't help myself and what a ride! That cliffhanger though....
The humour which I felt was lacking in Vincent's story is back with a vengeance and Lucius, wow. I never thought I would entertain the thought of cheating on my Book Boyfriend, Draven, until now....
Hurry up, Steph, can't wait for book 2 ❤️
