The writing is very specific so a little hard to get into at the start but once I got used to it, it was very enticing to read and such a beautiful romance to blossom

There is a lot of ambiguity, that is difficult to parse through. It takes a while to get through and I’m not invested

This would have been a five star book if it made more sense.  Half the time I was reading (or more) I had no clue what was going on.  But the way the book was written was just so damn good too.  The letters got better and better, as did the love story between Red and Blue.  This was so much better than I thought it would be.  I look forward to future me reading this again and hopefully getting more out of the story.

Hands down the most beautifully written book I've read in years, This Is How You Lose the Time War is a story written in epistolary form between Red and Blue, two opposing mid-level cogs in a larger machine trying to right the wrongs of the multiverse's integrated strands.

Good, but took me forever to listen to a six-hour audiobook at 3x speed. Not for me, but if you liked it, great!

A beautiful surreal epistolary novella. This was the slow burn, enemies to lovers sapphic romance I wanted Priory of An Orange Tree to be, but this book soars everywhere that story failed.

It’s romanticism, it’s poetry, it’s a symphony of sonnets. The sci fi elements are only the setting to enable the impossible. And it’s my favorite trope: the villain willing to burn down the whole world just to save their love. Ah, priorities.

It won’t be for everyone but it definitely was for me.
