The Oath We Give is a phenomenal book, and the development of the characters a real masterpiece.

Silas is a silent man, but he cares a lot about his family. With his father dying, he wants to continue the legacy, but for that he has to get married.

Caroline has been through a lot, and now she is no longer the girl she used to be.  She fought to survive for her sister, and now that the person how hurt her is back, she doesn't know what will happen. So this is why she accepts to be Silas' wife. She protects her sister, and Silas brings Stephen out of hiding.

Pain and death are what brought Coraline and Silas closer together. He was there during Coraline's darkest days, and over time he became the person she could trust.

They are attracted to each other, but Coraline keeps her distance, to keep Silas alive, but what she doesn't know is that when Silas loves something, he loves hard.  Even if it could bring him to the end.

Together they both heal. Coraline learns to trust other people, and Silas to love again.

Their relationship is unique, different from the others and I really enjoyed seeing how both of them start to grow into a better person.

I really loved this book and I am very excited about what the author is preparing for next year!

Thank you Monty Jay for the opportunity to read this amazing book in exchange for an honest review.

bitterfckingsweet 😭 the hollow boys series has been one of my favorite series to binge on & forget about all responsibilities. i know this is the last in line & i can’t help but be sad cause i know i’ll miss them. while thatcher & lyra are still my favorite, silas & caroline’s story hit a soft spot for me. we finally get to learn more about our favorite brooding & silent silas, while also getting a badass fmc: caroline. there were times she annoyed me but i really enjoyed the backbone she had. monty jay knows how to write a plot & keep it going 5 books deep without losing the readers’ attention. i live for the plot (& of course the boys) & was deeply invested since the lies we steal. the slow was really burning (about 65%) but once we got to it, it was so rewarding! seeing the love unfold between both main characters was beautiful & the closure?! i didnt realize i needed the closure we received towards the end but it was definitely needed. while this gen comes to an end, i cannot wait for the next gen: the river styx heathens!!
