This book was significantly better than Hooked. The storyline, the characters, the audio narrators, the spice, everything improved. I really enjoyed Sara B's sassy attitude and her feministic personality despite it being the early 1900s. I had a hard time seeing a connection between Sara & Tristan before the church scene & felt there should have been more there. I also loved Tristan as a character. Honestly, the two of them were made for each other.

I loved Hooked and I have to say I loved this twisted fairy tale as well! It was a little bit of a slow start but I soon fell in love with the characters and storyline. This one is a twisted storyline from the lion king and has an enemies to lovers storyline as the two main characters have the same agenda but just don’t know it until half way through the book. It has a happy ending and plenty of smutty moments!

I went into this not realizing that this book wouldn't be connected to Hooked so realizing it's set in the early 1900s really through me for a loop at first. Since I'm so used to reading fantasy and historical romance with royalty...my brain kept trying to thing this was much earlier in time than it was so when they'd mention guns/cameras/etc it took me a minute to remember when it was set.

There is just something about a man, who had a rough childhood, that believes he's this hard carefree person when in reality he does so many things that shows he cares...thats just *chefs kiss*

We also love a leading lady who takes no bullshit and is willing to do whatever it takes to avenge a wrong.

A fun read though doesn't feel like a book I'll reread over and over.
