I can’t rate this book higher than 4 stars because of how gross, vile, revolting, vulgar and disgustingly detailed it is. But I applaud the author for their artistic abilities.

Me parece complicado darle un rating de estrellas a un libro tan crudo, pero con una construcción de personajes buenísima y un retrato con muchas capas de una sociedad inundada en violencia. Decir que me ha gustado sería complicado, pero valoro mucho la construcción que hay detrás.

i understand it’s point and purpose. and, it’s beautifully written and rendered. the blurb says, “in a torrent of language,” which is perfectly characterized. i was gripped, but i still hated it. the blurb led me astray; from it, i thought this would be more of a literary mystery with some horror elements. but, oh no: this is hyper real, hyper violent, and hyper grotesque
