This was a great foray into a new and broader Magitech universe. After following along with the characters in the Magitech Chronicles series, it was fun to spend time with some new characters and building new mythology (albeit with great callbacks and references to the original saga that started it all). Overall, I'm really excited to see where the Magitech Legacy books go and how they add to the worldbuilding of this great setting.

Another enjoyable audio book from Chris Fox. I spent most my time listening to this whilst painting the garden deck or walking, and it was a nice escape from the monotony of those tasks.

Jerrek is the MC and it is told from a 1st person pov, which I liked. The world is dying and he is just trying to survive. This is a great set up. The opening and first act were really good.

The second half stuttered a little bit for me as his actions didnt tie enough to the idea of saving his world. He spent the second half playing space marine, whilst millions died. I get why (to build lore) but it took up too much time. The end result was that there wasn't really a climax, he just saved everyone.

Good worldbuilding, and it followed on from Magitech well, without it being mandatory.

Overall a pleasant listen.
