3 stars. Beautifully written and a sweet story but I was incredibly bored. I don’t have much to say. The characters were great and well developed for such a short read but there was nothing happening to make me get invested into them and their story unfortunately.

This book was a cute slice of life story. The writing, despite it being a translation, was really beautiful and gave you a great sense of the passage of time using the seasons and nearby blossoming cherry tree. The characters felt real each with their own personal struggles. At one point, I loved this book but everything changed for me the last quarter of the book. At that point it starts to feel like we're going nowhere. The book fizzles out towards the end and then ends with such ambiguity. Really disappointing.
