completely impulsive and unplanned reread but still just as shattered and in love as i was the first time round and beginning to think that to quote tokue, maybe we really were "born in order to see and listen to the world and that’s all this world wants of us and it doesn’t matter that i was never a teacher or a member of the workforce, my life has meaning" (big if true)

a straightforward and enjoyable story about friendship, second chances, observing to the world around you, and of course, sweet treats.

I will say the ending of this story bumped it up half a star for me. tokue’s perspective that life has meaning when one is living in the world is poignant. and so important for all of us to remember.
