"Gentle Parenting" gets a bad rap because so many unprofessional influencers have taken it to the extreme. This book is all the best parts of gentle parenting, with the science behind children's brain formation and emotional health, AND the balance of "but you're the parent and it's your job to step in and xyz," that the influencer gentle parenting lacks.

I think this would be a super helpful resource for a millennial/gen z parent to give to *their* parents to help explain some of the ways that our generation is parenting differently and why it matters.

Lots of helpful ideas and tips that are easily implemented the same day you read them. There are even chapters devoted to tantrums, sleep struggles, separation anxiety, and deep feeler kids.

While I disagree with her overall premise that everyone is innately good, I understand that many parents need to know that what they're doing is HARD and they're doing the best they can with the resources they have.

I would consider this a good resource for parents to have!

“… hold boundaries in challenging moments while simultaneously connecting to our children with empathy.”

The ONLY parenting book anyone will ever need. It is incredibly deep, extremely kind and written with so much heart. I will be returning to this book in the years to come when the going gets tough because it honestly feels like a warm hug for parents who feel like they are screwing up!

Anyone who has kids or spends a lot of time around kids should read this book.

I love Dr Becky, I’ve followed her on Instagram for years. She has great advice and actually gives you examples, and things to say. She even gives examples on how to modify things to apply it to older kids. So this is NOT just a toddler/little kid parenting book.

She also explains the WHY behind a lot of behavior and things kids struggle with.

I listened to the audio while also trying to highlight the ebook. I am going to order a psychical copy of this though and go back through the chapters that really helped me. Definitely will get a lot of use out of this book.

This is the kind of book I want to read twice a year to give my parenting skills a reboot. Dr. Becky is full of thoughtful insights and gives great examples of how to put these methods into place.
I can't say the audio was my favourite - the pronounciation of the word "impordant" drove me batty.

I’ve listened to a few podcast episodes of Good Inside, and this book pretty much goes more in depth to the different topics discussed. If you’re interested in attachment theory and how it impacts childhood development and influences parenting, then you’ll likely like this read (and it also might not be anything new if you’ve read other literature or done further research on gentle parenting).
