This book hurt. The writing was beautiful and I fell in love with every main character. I finished this in 2 days and the best way to sum up this book is… it isn’t a comforting cozy nostalgic read it’s more a nostalgia that I didn’t know I needed. It really is a beautiful book that captured my heart and ripped it into two.

Wow I just finished we were liars and the plot twist.. it was predictable but the way it was written made me feel for the liars and right now its 1am and I dont think I'm gonna be able to sleep I'm going to be thinking of this all night. I wish the writing were a little better and the characters were more loveable and diverse but overall I think it deserves 4.5 stars

It follows the character of Cadence Sinclair Eastman and how her family has affected her as a person. It's very hard to explain in simple terms what this book is about without spoiling anything because it's kind of all over the place. The characters aren't loveable and I don't really connect with any of them, to me Cady was just a girl who didn't understand her privilege and whilst I get that just because you have money doesn't mean you have a good life, I still don't think that's an excuse for the way she acts in this book. I thought Gat was quite an interesting character but there wasn't much too him and I think that could have been explored a bit more. I sort of guessed the ending in the middle of the book which kind of made it a bit boring to read towards the end. I did quite like the style that the book was written in, as it was fast-paced for me but I could still understand what was happening. There is character development to an extent, as the reasons why characters are the way they are, are sort of explained towards the end. I don't think I'd recommend this book to anyone but if you've got it on your TBR list then I think you should give it a go.

review with no spoilers.

I absolutely slandered this book. I did not have high hopes at all since I didn't really know what to expect from it. However, I enjoyed it with my whole heart and some of my tears. Some people called it predictable, though I found it to be hard wrenching when I heard what had actually happened.
I loved the characters of this book as well as the plot. Though I feel as though the people in this book really made the rich kid stereotype quite clear. Something that is a false stereotype, I think. Eitherway I did really felt a connection with me (the reader) and the characters. I especially loved Johnny with his witty expressions.
The writing style of this novel is great! Especially when you are new to English books and the language. though, I must admit, sometimes I had the feeling that the writer wanted it to be literary and poetic a bit too much. so much unnecessary sentences that didn't make any sense.
but even with that, it was a lovely book with a great turn of events.
a solid 4,75 stars from me!

The book is very confusing for the first 50% and really goes nowhere. You will have to sit through it. The second half is better but the twist and climax didn’t hit home for me
