I was enjoying it fine but it wasn't matching my reading needs at the moment - perhaps I'll try it again later

What can I possibly say about this book that hasn’t already been said? I honestly wasn’t sure how it could live up to the hype of what I’ve heard about it but somehow it even exceeded it. It’s a slow read so it’s hard to read a ton of at a time – I’d recommend picking it up in small chunks, also because it feels like every page has incredible wisdom that’s best digested slowly and sat with before rushing ahead. The talks in the introduction about how she was initially deciding between pursuing poetry or botany and the book is such a beautiful interweaving of the two. The writing is beyond stunning and the messages, information, wisdom, questions asked, lessons learned, are absolutely crucial. My only critique is that it did drag on a bit towards the end and it felt like some chapters could have been done without as they repeated things that had been discussed throughout but I can’t even be that mad about it. Everyone, everyone, everyone should read this book.

It has a strong beginning. Then becomes repetitive. Good examples illustrating reciprocity between living beings. Would’ve liked more success stories to combat the despair of the effects of climate change.

I feel quite bad giving this such a low rating, because I find the meaning of it all to be great, but I honestly didn't enjoy the reading process. It was very educational to begin, but I think the point was made after a couple of chapters. There was also a lot more science than I expected, as I thought it would be more about indigenous practice. So, this rating might be a little unfair, but I honestly wouldn't recommend unless you are very interested in botany etc.
