Chick lit. Pleasant characters, mildly interesting plot just not a lot of depth. If you want a light, beach read, that doesn’t require much of the reader, this might be it.

4.5 stars for me! I really enjoyed spending time with this lovely group of friends who were solving a gentle family mystery and coming of (middle) age. I think Linda Holmes has a knack for writing really believable characters and dialogue. I was happy to be back in Calcasset with her!

This is the kind of book you’d find in the hallway bookcase of the coastal vrbo you’re renting for a weekend. The kind of book you pick up because it’s there and seems pleasant enough, and it winds up being a delightful (if not earth shattering) read.
