I read this book slowly and with intention and it was perfect for where I was in my life. I found the examples to be compelling and also really enjoyed thinking about how I can change my attention and focus.

Disclaimer that I only got about halfway through this book.
This book felt more like the soapbox speech of someone who is frustrated with the pervasiveness of social media and feeling of needing to productize/monetize all our free time. I get it, I’m right there with you. However, I never felt like this book actually got to a point. It’s like the gif of a truck repeatedly speeding towards a pole, but never actually making contact.
I’ll say that a good piece of wisdom I took from this book was it’s not enough to just get rid of something (social media/working long hours/etc.) but you have to be intentional about what you replace those activities with. This is something that got me thinking about how I could be better in my own life. And it’s also the only reason the book got a 2 star rating for me.
There may be some bits of wisdom later in the book, but I just got too frustrated with the build-up to actually get there.

Not the book I expected. Very academic and a challenging read. Sometimes it was interesting, sometimes I did not get the point.
Super quick read. I felt like the author came off as a biased and a little preachy/know-it-all. I don’t know that it introduced any new concepts or gave amazing examples of how to see “doing nothing” as an act of resistance. Maybe I shouldn’t have listened to it while online shopping…

I totally agreed with the message of this book, but the tone and the writing were tough for me to get through. Felt very "overwritten" and almost condescending.
