This was a book of 4 short stories. I have to say, the first story creeped me out a bit because I HATE rats, but for the most part, they were all intriguing. I felt like they were a little rushed for typical Stephen King but I enjoyed them all the same.

This is by far my favorite short story collection from SK I've read. All of the stories are solid and interesting in their own ways. He's also surprisingly good at writing a female main character for an old guy.

The most well known short story in the collection ended up being my least favorite. I really felt the characters’ doubt and internal conflict while reading the current-day stories.
