Robbie Morrison's writing ability still isn't impressing me, but the storylines in this volume are quite fun and assist in moving the overall role of The Authority along in a few interesting directions.

One thing that keeps bugging me: I'm pretty sure it has been established that The Midnighter is a blonde babe, and yet he appears as a rough man with dark hair in this and the other "Volume 2" volumes. It wouldn't matter except that I think his blondeness was designed as a deliberate surprise for his out-of-costume appearance, as opposed to his Batman-esque masked visage.

This is pretty much what I've come to expect from Authority. Huge, multi-universe destroying problems. And villians that can wipe out cities with a flick of the wrist.

The last one shot story was pretty deep and dark too.

Fun, fun, fun!
