Aiden is a hockey player who doesn’t believe in superstitions until he does!
Saige was on a date with Aiden’s agent when they met at a party.
Saige became part of Aiden’s superstition. Their friends-to-lovers story is wonderful.
Troupes: sports/hockey, famous hero, strong female heroine, friends to lovers

We first met Aiden & Sage in the novella. When Aiden went in for a kiss, Sage threw a drink in his face. After that night, Aiden had one of his best games ever. He is convinced that she is his lucky charm. Despite being attracted to her, and her dating his agent, he reaches out in hopes that she will follow him to his games as his lucky charm. I loved their friends to lovers story and how much they really got along and enjoyed each other.

Solid slow-burn hockey romance.
Aiden is the captain of the Florida Fury NHL team. The book opens with him in a 9 game slump, looking down the barrel of a possible trade if his game doesn't improve.

After meeting Saige at a NYE party, he is smitten. After chatting all night, Saige ends up throwing her wine in his face when he goes in for a mudnight kiss. He discovers later that she is his agent's date to the party.

Saige has been burned by dating an athlete in the past, so despite being drawn to Aiden, she slams on the brakes before her heart can be broken.

The next hockey game after the party is a turnaround success for Aiden. His superstitious team mates convince him that he needs to repeat whatever he did the night before to keep on his winning streak. He hunts down Saige so she can toss a glass of wine in his face before his next match.

The two form a deal where in return for the pre-match wine ritual for the rest of the season, Saige can manage all Aiden's social media accounts. She is a social media publicist who just lost one of her biggest clients and so she agrees to follow him around the country for his home and away season.

The two spend plenty of time together and each has their own reasons for keeping the attraction between them tightly under wraps. They commit to being friend zoned, until they can't anymore, which brings its own consequences.

The slow-burn build up in the first half of the book is superbly done. It fell off a little for me after that and became a bit too predictable, but all in all a good read.

This book contains multiple descriptive love scenes.
