I've been sleeping on Piper Rayne. This isn't my first book from them, but for some reason I didn't pick them up more after I finished that first one, which I remember quite enjoying. I will surly being remedying that in the very near future.
This was a great start to the series, with great introductions to the cast of characters, and Aiden was the perfect place to start. I really enjoyed him as the male lead of this one. I liked his backstory and how that was revealed throughout the book. I liked how he was with his teammates, and I loved how his friendship developed with Saige, and how that morphed into more. I loved the way he handled his relationship development with Saige, and while he was an idiot at one point in the story, I really liked how he handled the situation in the end. And Saige? She was his perfect match. I love how she pushed back on him and didn't just immediately go with the flow.
I loved how the two of them supported each other, and were both willing to step outside of their comfort zones for the other. I really love how their relationship developed from strangers to friends to lovers. And I liked how they dealt with the conflicts that arose over the course of the entire book. I'm really excited for the next book in the series, and for checking out more from this author duo.

Ok.
This book didn’t grab me as most of the stories by these authors usually do. I liked it and am looking forward to reading the series, though.

This was a great start to a new series for me. The chemistry between Aiden & Saige was hot even before they became a couple, so I knew I would be in for a steamy read! What I also got was a sweet story about two people who just clicked. I also appreciated the minimal angst in this story - it was nice to read about two people who acted like adults instead of acting like teenagers. Aiden & Saige were great characters that felt very real, and I loved the relationships they had with the people around them. I’m looking forward to reading more in this series!
It’s safe to say Piper Rayne can write just about anything- they write this sports romance with the same characteristic charm and finesse that we’ve come to love about their most cherished series. I simply loved this series debut- it gave me all my usual Piper Rayne swoons and smiles. Charming characters, sizzling chemistry, and light hearted fun- I may have a new favorite Piper Rayne series on my hands! Lucky 13 indeed!
