I read the third book first in this series and decided I wanted to come back to read the rest of them. This was a fun book to listen to. I liked the characters, and their love story was fun.

I am so glad that Piper Rayne decided to write some hockey romances. I love sports romance, and I don't know what it is about hockey players, but they are swoony. Aiden Drake fits the bill too. His nickname is Shamrock or Lucky 13. Not because he's superstitious, but because he's not until he hits a slump and doesn't score for several games. Then he meets a girl at a party who flings wine in his face, and voila, he's scoring again. Now guess who is superstitious now?

Saige is a social media manager for pro athletes but has sworn off dating them. She's independent and strong; she's also adorable but does not take any gruff off her clients. Aiden convinces her to continue doing what is necessary for the superstition. He is also throwing in a lot of perks, including signing with her company. She's hesitant because she is attracted to him, but NO PRO ATHLETES.

Piper Rayne then gives us their romance as they uniquely do. They are attracted, but they remain friends. Both are hating being in the friendzone but are staying there for their own reasons. You can feel the tension building right along with them. They are sweet, fun, and just plain adorable as they spend time together and really take care of each other.

I am really looking forward to more hockey stories from these writers because they scored a hat trick with this one.

Mit Countdown to a Kiss hatte man schon hier einen kleinen Vorgeschmack bekommen für die neue Reihe.
Daher war ich um so gespannter was mich hier erwartet. Sport-Romance hat seinen ganz eigenen Sog auf mich. Und Hockey Spieler, die sehr abergläubisch sind, sind recht witzig.
Aiden, der nach 8 Spielen immer noch keinen Treffer mehr gelandet, ist langsam verzweifelt. Zu Silvester lernt er auf einer große Party eine unbekannte Frau kennen, die ihm eine Dusche verpasst. Und kaum zu glauben, beim nächsten Spiel ist Aiden wieder mit im Spiel. Nur Hockey Spieler und ihre Rituale vor dem Spiel sind schon was merkwürdig. Denn wie soll er die fremde Frau wieder finden? Aber das Schicksal kommt ihm zur Hilfe. Nur das Saige so gar kein Interesse an Aiden hat. Aber sie wird sein Glücksbringer sein. Und so lernen die beiden sich näher kennen.

Der Einstieg in die Geschichte hat mir sehr gefallen und der weitere Verlauf war witzig und unterhaltsam. Gefühle und Emotionen kommen nicht zu kurz, genauso wie die ein oder andere heiße Szene. Man erlebt eine angenehme Achterbahnfahrt der Gefühle.
Nur der Break kam mir etwas zu gewollt daher. Irgendwie habe ich leider hier geahnt was passieren wird. Ich hätte mir gern einen anderen Grund gewünscht.
Aber das war ja zum Glück nur ein mini teil der Story und mich konnte My Lucky 13 komplett begeistern. Ich bin schon auf die nächsten teile sehr gespannt.
